As you will know my daughter Mistress Victoria has been traveling, so when I had a letter telling me she was to arrive home for a brief stopover there was a mixture of elation and panic because the letter was dated the previous week and was actually arriving today! She also mentioned her new sissy Sara, who arrived nice and early....6 hours early!! Never mind I thought, and got straight on the phone to Petra, who immediately agreed to kindly come over asap and help out with food and drink etc. In the meantime .... When times have been challenging, I like to think of Christmas as a true celebration. A celebration of the year almost past. I reflect upon that year and pay homage to my triumphs, however small they might seem. The return to my beautiful home by the sea being the greatest this year. Being back in one's family home brings a sense of well being unrivalled by any other. Irene arrived that morning expecting a rigorous few days in service, but perhaps secretly hoping for a little festive frivolity. There on the hall table was her usual list.
